Dog Safety Information & Resources
I am not an expert in canine behaviour, however I have done a lot of reading over the years and benefited from some great advice and guidance from a number of sources. I wanted to sign post to a few below that I hope are helpful:

The Pet Education Partnership (PEP) is a collaboration between 8 of the UKs leading animal welfare charities. It provides pet education resources including lesson plans and event activities. They have developed a helpful ‘Being safe around dogs’ animation.

The Child Accident Prevention Trust is a UK Charity focussed on preventing avoidable harm and death to children. It contains free educational resources on a variety of child safety topics including some useful dog safety posters and advice.
Dog Training Advice and Support (Facebook Group): This group has a fantastic selection of guides that are free to access to group members (click on the image to be taken the Facebook Group page); it has lots of advice on dog training and wider support. It has a good selection of information and advice related to dogs and children/babies with lots of sign-posting to further reading.

‘Stop the 77’ is a powerful video reminding us that a high proportion of dog bites happen in the home and how we have normalised some child dog interactions that are not necessarily appropriate and could be harmful.
I found this article ‘The Kids are Alright‘ written by Linda Case over 10 years ago interesting and it references some further research into the topic that is helpful to explore. Please click on the link to read the full article and visit Linda’s website.
If you have any other research, articles or related information you think would be useful to include on this page please do contact me through the ‘contact me‘ page on this website as I would love to hear from you.
